Can I buy Redback boots in a physical store in South Africa?

Redback boots are available through selected stockists across South Africa. While we don't have our own physical stores, reach out to us and we'll help you find the closest stockist in your area.

Can I amend or cancel my order after placing it?

Yes, you can make changes to your order as long as it hasn't been packed and handed over for delivery. WhatsApp us with your order number and the change you'd like to make. Once an order has been dispatched, we're unable to make any further changes.

Are these genuine Australian Redback boots?

Yes. All boots sold on redback.co.za are 100% genuine Redback boots, manufactured by Redback Boots Company Australia. We are an authorised South African distributor – every pair is original, authentic, and sourced directly from the official manufacturer.

What are Redback boots made from?

Redback boots are handcrafted from premium full-grain Australian leather, known for its strength, durability, and natural breathability. Every pair features a triple-layer air-cushion midsole for all-day comfort and a slip-resistant outsole built for tough surfaces and all conditions.

What is the difference between the Bobcat and the Whistler?

The Bobcat is Redback's iconic classic work boot – rugged and built for demanding environments. The Whistler is a refined evolution: a cleaner, more sophisticated silhouette designed for those who want the same Redback craftsmanship and comfort with a smarter, more versatile look. Both are made from full-grain leather with the same comfort technology.

Are Redback boots waterproof?

Redback boots are made from premium water-resistant leather, but they are not fully waterproof as they are unlined. Regular application of Boot Food or a quality leather wax significantly improves water resistance and helps protect the leather.

Do Redback boots have steel toe caps?

The current Redback range available on our website does not include steel toe caps. Our boots are premium leather work and lifestyle boots designed for comfort and durability. Contact us at hello@redback.co.za if you need guidance for specific workplace safety requirements.

Boot Care

How do I care for my Bobcat leather boots?

Wipe off dirt after each use and let the leather dry naturally. Apply Redback Boot Food or a quality leather wax or conditioner regularly to nourish the leather, maintain flexibility, and minimise water ingress. Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight. Regular care significantly extends the lifespan of your boots.

What is Redback Boot Food and do I need it?

Boot Food is a specially formulated leather conditioner and protectant designed for full-grain leather footwear. It nourishes the leather, maintains flexibility, improves water resistance, and extends the life of your boots. We strongly recommend using it as part of your regular boot care routine. It is available in our online store in 125ml.

How do I break in new Redback boots?

Full-grain leather naturally moulds to the shape of your foot over time. To break your boots in comfortably, wear them for a few hours at a time initially and gradually increase the duration over the first couple of weeks. Applying Boot Food before your first wear helps soften the leather, and wearing good quality thick socks can also ease the process.

Sizing

What sizes do Redback boots come in?

Redback boots are available in UK sizes 4 to 15. Half sizes (starting at UK 7.5) indicate additional width, not extra length. Women generally size down one from their usual UK shoe size. We recommend measuring your foot and using our Sizing Guide for the most accurate fit.

How do I measure my foot for the correct Redback size?

Place a piece of paper on a hard floor against a wall. Stand barefoot with your heel touching the wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres. Measure both feet and use the larger measurement. Match this to the chart on our Sizing Guide page.

Do half sizes mean a wider fit?

Yes. In Redback's sizing system, half sizes indicate extra width only – not additional length. If you have a wider foot, selecting the half size (e.g. UK 8.5 instead of UK 8) gives you the same length with a roomier fit. Half sizes are available from UK 7.5 upwards.

How should women size Redback boots?

Women generally size down one from their standard UK shoe size. However, we always recommend confirming using your actual foot measurement against our Sizing Guide. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us before ordering.

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

We offer secure payment through Stitch Express: Credit/debit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, Capitec Pay and Stitch Express Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)

Do you offer Buy Now Pay Later?

Yes. We offer Buy Now Pay Later through Stitch Express BNPL.

How do I know my payment was successful?

Once your payment goes through, you will automatically receive an order confirmation email. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If you still can't find it, WhatsApp us on +27 64 647 4288 and we'll confirm it for you.

Is it safe to shop on redback.co.za?

Yes. Our store runs on Shopify, one of the world's most trusted e-commerce platforms, with SSL encryption throughout. All payments are processed through Stitch Express. Your personal and financial information is fully protected at every step.

Shipping & Delivery

How much does delivery cost in South Africa?

Standard Delivery is R150 (3–7 working days) and Express Delivery is R195 (2–3 working days). Free Standard Delivery is on all orders over R1,000.
We also deliver to Courier Guy Lockers and PAXI collection points. Contact us after placing your order to arrange this.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes. All orders over R1,000 qualify for free Standard Delivery anywhere in South Africa.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders are processed and dispatched within 2–7 working days from the time payment is received, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Once shipped, Express Delivery takes 2–3 working days and Standard Delivery takes 3–7 working days. We will notify you if there are any unexpected delays.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a tracking link. You can also track your parcel at any time by visiting the Track My Parcel page on our website by using order number.

Do you deliver to farms and remote locations?

Yes, we deliver nationwide across South Africa, including farms and remote locations. Delivery timeframes may vary slightly depending on the area, but your boots will reach you wherever you are.

Can I collect from a Courier Guy Locker or PAXI point?

Yes. We offer delivery to Courier Guy Lockers and PAXI collection points for added convenience. Contact us at hello@redback.co.za or WhatsApp +27 64 647 4288 after placing your order to arrange this.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

You may return your order within 14 days of receiving it, provided the boots are unworn, in original condition, and in their original packaging. Email hello@redback.co.za within that 14-day window with your order number and reason for return. We reserve the right to refuse returns on boots showing signs of use, damage, or modification. How do I request a refund?

Email hello@redback.co.za within 14 days of receiving your order with your order number and reason for the return. Once we confirm the return details, ship the boots in their original packaging. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days of receiving and inspecting the returned boots. Return shipping costs for refunds are at the customer's expense.

Can I return boots that have been worn or used?

No. Returns are only accepted for boots in their original, unworn condition with original packaging intact. Boots that show signs of use, damage, or modification cannot be returned for a refund. If you believe there is a manufacturing defect, please refer to our warranty process below.

Exchanges

How do I exchange my boots for a different size or colour?

Email hello@redback.co.za or WhatsApp +27 64 6474288 within 14 days of receiving your order with your order number and the size or colour you need. For size and colour exchanges, return shipping is covered by Redback South Africa. Do not send the boots back before receiving approval and return instructions from us.

Who pays for return shipping on an exchange?

If you are exchanging for a different size or colour, return shipping is at our cost – we cover it. If you are returning a product for a full refund, return shipping costs are at the customer's expense.

Warranty

What warranty do Redback boots carry?

Redback boots carry a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase against manufacturing faults, covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to boots purchased directly from Redback South Africa. Proof of purchase is required for all claims.

What does the Redback warranty not cover?

The warranty does not cover damage from excessive wear and tear or misuse, water ingress (boots are not waterproof), damage from corrosive materials or unreasonable abrasion, or general deterioration from lack of care and maintenance.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Email hello@redback.co.za with the following: clear photos of the defect, a photo of the underside of the sole, your proof of purchase, and a photo of the intact batch number. Do not ship the boots before your claim has been submitted and approved. Once authorised, we will provide the return address and instructions. Boots must be cleaned before returning, and all original tags and labels must remain attached.

I bought my boots from another retailer – can you process my warranty claim?

Warranty claims can only be processed for boots purchased directly from Redback South Africa at redback.co.za. If you purchased from another retailer, please contact that retailer directly to initiate your warranty claim.
